A month of reading on an e-ink reader
I read more, but not because of the screen. Because reading is the only thing it lets me do.
I bought an e-reader with low expectations. A month later, I had finished four books: more than in the previous six months combined.
What made the difference
It was not the beautiful screen or the long battery life. The difference was the absence of notifications. Nothing pulled me away from the page.
What I did not like
- There are still few properly formatted Vietnamese ebooks.
- Illustrations and tables are awkward to view.
- Buying books is easier than keeping up with reading them.
Should you buy one?
If you pick up your phone to read and end up scrolling social media without noticing, yes. If paper books already work well for you, there is no need.
