You do not need to publish every day

Writing consistently matters more than writing a lot. Choose a publishing rhythm you can keep for a year.

“Publish every day” is useful advice for full-time content creators. For busy people with a day job, it often means three enthusiastic weeks followed by three silent months.

Set a rhythm around the time you actually have

Count the hours available in an ordinary week, not an ideal one.

  • Under 2 hours: one long article each week.
  • 2 to 4 hours: one long article and two short posts.
  • Over 4 hours: add a video or an email newsletter.

One idea, several formats

A long article can become three short posts, an image series and a section of a newsletter. You do not need more ideas; you need to reuse the good ones.

Measure what matters

Likes are easy to count, but tell you little. Count the people who write back after each article instead. That is a better sign that your writing reached someone.
